Riyadh to Guangzhou Flights

What's new in Riyadh

• January 2026: The redeveloped International Terminal 2 opened at King Khalid Airport, completing the Terminals 1 and 2 improvement project.
• February 2026: Airport operations were reassigned, putting foreign international airlines in Terminal 5 and changing the arrival point for many overseas travellers.

Tips for travellers from India

Olaya is useful for a stay centred on offices and Kingdom Centre, while Diriyah requires a separate western excursion. The National Museum and Al Masmak Fortress belong to the older southern part of Riyadh, so grouping them reduces repeated cross-city transfers. The Yellow metro line provides an airport link, but a final interchange or road connection may still be necessary for the hotel.

Airport terminal advice published before February 2026 can point passengers to the wrong building. Match the airline’s updated terminal to the relevant metro stop or taxi destination. Terminals 1 and 2 handle Saudi carriers’ international operations; Terminals 3 and 4 serve their domestic flights. A domestic connection can therefore involve a change of building even when the same carrier operates both legs. Diriyah’s At-Turaif heritage area and dining district have their own booking arrangements, so select the intended attraction rather than assuming one admission covers the entire development. Plan the outdoor heritage visit separately from an indoor National Museum afternoon.

What's new in Guangzhou

• October 2025: Baiyun Airport opened Terminal 3, adding a new departure and arrival location that travellers need to distinguish from the older terminals.
• January 2026: international and regional flights previously using Terminal 1 moved to Terminal 3, changing pickup and departure arrangements.

Tips for travellers from India

Choose Tianhe for a stay centred on modern shopping districts, or the older Liwan area for an itinerary around traditional streets and the Chen Clan Ancestral Hall. Shamian Island belongs with the western side of the city, while Canton Tower and the newer riverfront districts form another outing. This division avoids repeated east-to-west crossings.

Baiyun's third terminal makes the terminal name essential when arranging a car. The airport provides a free round-the-clock shuttle between all three terminals, but a terminal transfer is an additional stage of the arrival. Use the transport information for the building serving the flight rather than directions saved for a previous trip.

A riverfront evening fits naturally after Canton Tower, while a visit to the Chen Clan Ancestral Hall can lead into a closer look at Liwan. Treat a hotel in Tianhe as a transport base for the older districts, not as walking-distance accommodation for every historic sight. Guangzhou's spread is easier to manage through these distinct neighbourhood groups.
