Paris to Beijing Flights

What's new in Paris

• June 2025: Notre-Dame began admitting organised tourist groups again, adding a bookable group-visit option after its earlier reopening to individuals.
• October 2025: Fondation Cartier opened its new premises at Place du Palais-Royal, placing contemporary-art exhibitions opposite the Louvre rather than on Boulevard Raspail.

A hotel near an RER B station can simplify the Charles de Gaulle transfer, particularly around Gare du Nord or Saint-Michel. The Marais is useful for a stay focused on older streets and small museums, but may add a metro change or walk from the airport train. Choose the final district before deciding between rail and a road transfer.

The Louvre, Palais-Royal and the relocated Fondation Cartier now form a logical central art route, though separate admissions still apply. Montmartre sits on a hill north of this circuit and deserves its own walk. Notre-Dame’s individual reservations and organised group bookings are different arrangements; use the cathedral’s official booking route for the kind of visit intended. The Eiffel Tower is farther west and is best paired with its river approaches rather than inserted between Louvre galleries. At the airport, Charles de Gaulle’s Terminal 2 contains several lettered buildings, so the complete terminal designation matters when meeting a driver or following signs back to check-in.

What's new in Beijing

• December 2025: the central section of Metro Line 17 opened between Workers' Stadium and Shilihe, adding connections through eastern central Beijing.
• January 2026: Wangjingxi station opened on Line 17, creating another interchange with Lines 13 and 15 for journeys across northern Beijing.

Tips for travellers from India

Dongzhimen is a practical base when the airport rail connection is the main concern. A Qianmen stay instead places the focus on the older central streets. These choices serve different itineraries: a convenient arrival interchange and a heritage neighbourhood are not the same location.

Build a central day around the Forbidden City and its surroundings rather than appending the Summer Palace at the far end of the afternoon. The palace gardens deserve a separate northwest outing. A Great Wall excursion is a third commitment beyond the urban sightseeing circuit, with its own road journey and walking route.

Keep Capital and Daxing airport names visible in any transfer booking, especially when arriving on one airline and leaving on another. For evenings, remain in the neighbourhood already being explored: hutong lanes reward a slower walk, whereas the main avenues around the large monuments create much longer distances than a compact map implies. Qianmen and Dongzhimen therefore offer two distinct starting points for the same city.
